Bridging the Gap between Intention and Action

Bridging the Gap between Intention and Action

Even with good intentions, it can be hard to do the right thing. That is particularly true when folks are on vacation and more relaxed than at home. The most effective traveler programs recognize that behavior change is hard and help travelers make better choices.
The Miles Partnership Research and Insights team recommends five ways that DMOs and tourism organizations can support travelers’ travel more responsibly and ensure the best outcomes from tourism for their communities.

      1. Define the sustainable choices clearly
      2. Spread information across touchpoints.
      3. Ask travelers to turn their beliefs into real, practical actions
      4. Don’t just as much (if not more) than do’s.
      5. Share the “Whys”
