Wonderful Copenhagen, the official tourism organization of the Capital Region of Denmark launched an initiative to reward tourists who demonstrate climate-friendly travel behavior by participating in certain green initiatives. Beginning July 15, 2024, to August 11, 2024, participants can earn rewards like free meals, kayak tours, or museum entrances by biking, using public transportation, or engaging in urban gardening. The program aims to bridge the attitude-behavior gap by making climate-friendly action a currency for cultural experiences. Participation is based on trust, and rewards can be claimed by showing proof of green actions. They hope to create a ripple effect to inspire other cities around the globe to find their way to incentivize responsible travel behavior.
